TWENTY-SECOND SUNDAY IN YEAR 3
EUCHARISTIC PRAYER 2
TODAY'S LITURGY
The second reading fixes our eyes and hopes on the heavenly Jerusalem which is
the goal of Christian lives. The Gospel warns us against pride.

with them for God's blessing on our Parish, Diocese and country, in the name of
Saint Ninian.
RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS (RCIA)
The Rite
of Christian Initiation of Adults is the Church's blueprint for implementing the
Second Vatican Council and emphasises the need for every Christian to recognise
his or her Ministry in the community as we all journey together on our way to
the Father with Christ as our leader and guide.
SUNDAY LITURGY FOR YOUNG
CHILDREN
The Sunday Liturgy for three to five and a half year olds begins
at the 9.30 Mass today.
FIRST COMMUNION
We had a very good attendance
at the meeting of parents who are invited to take part in the preparation of their
children for First Confession and Communion. The children will come to the Hall
every second Saturday and parents will meet monthly beginning in September. Some
ten people from the Parish will be catechists or guides for the children. The
school will continue to play its indispensable part. The Parish community will
benefit from this approach. Please pray that God will bless this work.
SISTERS OF MISERICORDE
You are
invited to a special Mass in the Church of Saint John Ogilvie, Bourtreehill, Irvine
on Thursday 15 September at 7.00 pm to recognise the work of the Sisters in the
Diocese. You will know that, regrettably, they are returning to France at the
end of September. Please put your name on list in Church Porch if you wish to
go. If numbers are sufficient, a bus will be arranged. Tea is available after
Mass for adults only. Children are welcome at the Mass but the capacity of the
hall dictates this latter arrangement.
