SUNDAY COLLECTION
Last weekend's collection amounted to £851.00. We are grateful for your generous support of the Parish. Banker's Orders amount to an average of £4400 per month.

BANKER'S ORDERS, GIFT AID AND WILLS
Have you thought of using a Bankers Order? It assists us with the safe handling of cash. Have you signed a Gift Aid Form? If you pay tax, then every £1 you give to the Parish is worth £1.28 to us. Would you consider remembering Saint Peter's in your will?

PARISH CENTRE COLLECTION
Last weekend's collection for the Parish Centre amounted to £391.97 - many thanks.

READERS
Next weekend's readers are Katrina Pollock, Annie Watt and Tom Reid.

THREE TOWNS CHURCHES CRUISE
Due to some unforeseen work being carried out on the Waverley, the Charity Evening Cruise originally arranged for Wednesday 18 June will take place on Wednesday 30 July. Tickets already purchased will be valid for this new date. If this new date is not suitable, a full refund will be given.

BULLETIN AND WORSHIP SHEETS
Notices for inclusion in the Bulletin need to be here by Thursday of each week. After Mass, we would be grateful if you would return the worship sheets to the boxes for use at a later Mass.

SCOTTISH CATHOLIC INTERNATIONAL AID FUND (SCIAF) BOXES
Please continue to use SCIAF boxes throughout the year or make a box of your own. Please hand in any donations for forwarding to SCIAF for our poorest brothers and sisters.

SAINT PETER'S CHILDREN'S CENTRE
Afternoon places are available in Saint Peter's Nursery starting in August 2008. For more information and an application form, please contact Josephine Coulter.

CATHOLIC NEWSPAPERS
Each week, we have copies of the Scottish Catholic Observer and The Universe available for sale. They are informative on events happening in the Catholic world in Scotland and the rest of the world. Perhaps you could reserve your copy at the stall. This would ensure that we order enough and not too many.

THURSDAY CLUB TWENTY-FIFTH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
The
Thursday Club will celebrate its twenty-fifth anniversary in the Parish Centre on Friday 13 June at 7.30 pm. Tickets cost £6 from Moira. There will be dancing, a buffet, the Von Crap Singers and other entertainment.

IGNATIAN PRAYER GROUP
The Ignatian Prayer Group meets in the Parish Centre on the first Wednesday of the month at 7.30 pm, the second Tuesday at 7.30 pm and the last Tuesday at 2.00 pm.

DONATION FROM
SAINT ANNE'S GUILD
We acknowledge a donation of £150 for the Parish from the Saint Anne's Guild. Many thanks.

THANKS FROM ANGELA BODY
Angela Body thanks
Canon Matt and the parishioners for their prayers and cards after her fall. All will be remembered in prayer and at Mass.

FATHER JOHN
Father John has written to let us know he is fine. He is badly in need of help to get a car. There are no sources of income or help from his Order or his family so he is looking to us. I have had some interest from a few parishioners. We cannot use Parish funds to help because charity rules don't permit it and we cannot simply have a collection in Church because the Bishops have listed the collections we are allowed to have so we have to find another way. I could do with a few people gathering to discuss it on Monday evening at 6.30 pm in the presbytery. Sorry for short notice but I have a very busy week. For starters, there will be a Tanzanian Auction - like a Chinese Auction - in aid of funds for Father John in the Parish Centre on Wednesday 18 June at 7.30 pm. Entry costs £1 and includesg tea or coffee. Please bring an item to auction. Your trash is someone else's treasure. It's all in a good cause.

URGENT - HUMAN EMBRYOLOGY AND FERTILISATION BILL
The Human Embryology and Fertilisation Bill and other 'life' legislation comes back to the Commons soon for final reading. Please take time to write to Katy Clark MP and ask her to reconsider her vote. Template letters are available. Thanks.

BULLETIN
If you would like the Bulletin sent to your computer, please give us an email address.

PROTECTION OF CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE ADULTS - MISSION STATEMENT
The Catholic Church in Scotland is concerned with the lives, safety, wholeness and well-being of each individual person within God's purpose for everyone. It seeks to safeguard the welfare of people of all ages who are involved in whatever capacity with the Church and its organisations. As a Church community, we accept that it is the responsibility of all of us, ordained, professed, paid and voluntary members, to work together to prevent the physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
