Last weekend's Offertory collection amounted to £822.32. We are grateful for your generous support of the Parish. Banker's Orders amount to an average of £4000 per month.

BANKER'S ORDERS, GIFT AID AND WILLS
Have you thought of using a Bankers Order? It assists us with the safe handling of cash. Have you signed a Gift Aid Form? If you pay tax, then every £1 you give to the Parish is worth £1.28 to us. Would you consider remembering Saint Peter's in your will?

PARISH CENTRE COLLECTION
Last weekend's collection for the Parish Centre amounted to £323.24 - many thanks.

FUNERAL CATERING
The Parish Centre is available for hire for funeral catering. Maria of the Cheery Cup, Glasgow Street, Ardrossan (469588) and Carol Ann of O'Really’s, Princes Street, Ardrossan (604333) can be available to cater. We cannot provide a drinks licence and we require enough time to cancel the use of the Centre by the Mother and Toddlers Group. Booking of the centre is via Fiona on 606424. Book the caterers is by direct contact. Arrangements for providing a drink can be made with the caterers but the bar is not available.

ITALIAN NIGHT
The second Italian Style Dinner Dance - Another Taste of Italy - in honour of Saint Andrew is booked to take place on Friday 27 November. Advance bookings for tickets are now being accepted.

PEREGRINATIO PRO CHRISTO - JOURNEYING FOR CHRIST
A Legion of Mary team from Ireland is making a visit to the Parish from 4 to 11 July. The team will work and pray with local members of the Legion in our Parish - visiting homes, meeting with people, gathering for Mass, meals and so on. The team will consist of a priest and ten lay members. They are expected to pay their own way with regard to bed and breakfast accommodation but hospitality has been ofered by parishioners - many thanks. The team requires lunch and an evening meal in the Parish Centre. I need some groups - for example, a group of friends - who would provide a meal each evening for the Legion team. Most days are covered and this is the last chance to make an offer.

PARISH BARBECUE
We will have a Parish Barbecue on the Sunday before the schools reopen in August.
Canon Matt has had a few declarations of interest and needs a few more from those willing to help. We will have a planning meeting in a few weeks.

CROSSHOUSE HOSPITAL
You can contact Reverend Deacon Gordon Tustin on 07515 698 180 to notify him if you or a family member is going into Crosshouse. The hospital is unable do it. A message will be passed on. If you or a family member is housebound, please let us know. Unless told, we don’t know about it.

SAINT PETER’S RAINBOWS AND BROWNIES
The Monday night Rainbows and Brownies Group is now on holiday till the first Monday in September. Many thanks to the parents for all their support during the year. The Leaders wish all Brownies and Rainbows a great holiday.

SAINT PETER’S WEBSITE – FORTY THOUSAND VISITS
On 22 June, Saint Peter's website had its forty-thousandth visit since its launch on 13 July 2005. The site has nearly 1000 pages, 610 pictures, 264 bulletins between 1960 and 2009, 7000 links, some audio and video clips and been viewed in 44 countries. It contains many articles on past and present spiritual and community life in Saint Peter's.
Canon Matt and the website author are very grateful to those who have accessed the site, lent photographs, passed on stories, identified errors, made suggestions and expressed compliments. The aims of the site are to make parishioners aware of current events and record our history. If you can help with this project, please contact WebsiteAuthor@SaintPeterinChains.net.

SAINT BRENDAN’S PARISH
It has now been established that the Parish would be looking at a £2 million cost to repair the Saint Brendan's Church, Saltocats. The Bishop and his advisors, including Father Jim Hayes, have taken the very painful decision to close and demolish the Church, the hall and the house and merge the Parish back into Saint Mary’s Parish. A closing Mass will be offered on Monday 20 July at 7.00 pm to which everyone is invited. Please keep the parishioners of Saint Brendan’s in your prayers. This is a very painful time for them. The Bishop’s letter to the Parishioners can be read by clicking here.

GALLOWAY LOURDES HOSPITALITE MEMBERSHIP AND PILGRIMAGE
Many thanks to all who returned the brown envelopes. £250 was raised in subscriptions and donations and Gift Aid will increase this total. Donations are still welcome. Pass them to Myriame Sammons. The pilgrimage leaves Prestwick on 6 July. If you would like a petition placed at Our Lady’s Grotto in Lourdes, please contact Myriame. The Group will request a Mass in Lourdes for the Parish. Please pray for the success of the pilgrimage.

FATHER STEPHEN SHARKEY
Father Stephen Sharkey has requested our help and prayers for the troops in Afghanistan where he is now stationed. Many of our young soldiers are without support from home so we have decided to create shoebox style packages for them. A large box will be in the porch of the Church for any donations you can spare. For these packages we need empty shoes boxes, toiletries but no aerosols please, sweets but no chocolate, loaf cakes such as tea bread and banana bread and magazines. Also if you would like to write to a soldier, feel free to drop a letter in the box. Thank you in advance for your support.

THANKS FROM THE SPECIAL RELIGIOUS EDUCATION (SPRED) GROUP
Thanks from all at SPRED for the warm welcome and generous donations. A very enjoyable time was had by all at the barbecue and Mass last Saturday.
