weekend's Offertory collection amounted to £680.41. We are grateful for
your generous support of the Parish. Banker's Orders amount to an average of £4000
per month.
BANKER'S ORDERS, GIFT AID AND WILLS
Have you thought of
using a Bankers Order? It assists us with the safe handling of cash. Have you
signed a Gift Aid Form? If you pay tax, then every £1 you give to the Parish
is worth £1.28 to us. Would you consider remembering Saint Peter's in your
will? The recession is hitting everyone. Thanks for the support you manage to
give the Parish.

HELP
FOR THE SOLDIERS IN AFGHANISTAN
Father Stephen Sharkey, Padre of the Fourth
Rifles in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, has written to thank us for the help
we give to the soldiers by the parcels we send. We have now sent over a hundred
shoe box parcels. We send sweets - no chocolate please, toiletries - no aerosols
please, small tins of tuna and salmon, Supernoodles, cup-a-soup, biscuits and
cakes and other odds and ends. We always include rosaries, medals, and so on.
We will collect for a few weeks yet with a view to creating some Christmas parcels
and are grateful for all you can donate in the box at the stall. Thanks.
CHILDREN’S
LITURGY

still do not have an up-to-date register of Parishioners - even those who come

if you would do it. The Parish website has a link
for you to forward your name, address and phone number.

children under 16 must be with an Adult. The cost will be about £6. The
list for names is in the porch. Please complete it this weekend if possible or
contact Harry Sammons.
THURSDAY
CLUB
The Thursday
Club restarts on Tuesday 25 August. Welcome
back.
10.00 AM MASS
It was nice to have so many children and it was
quieter last weekend. Can I ask for your help? Soft toys are better
than tractors
and taking a child out while he/she has their 'moment' would be good. In the old
days, parents worked very hard to keep prayer time special. All I ask is that
you do your best.
RAINBOWS AND BROWNIES
The Monday night groups restart
on Monday 24 August with the Rainbows from 5.30 to 6.30 pm and Brownies from 6.30pm
to 8.00 pm. Please return any Smarties Tubes at this meeting. Many thanks - Group
Leaders.

PROTECTION OF CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE
ADULTS - MISSION STATEMENT
The Catholic Church in Scotland is concerned with
the lives, safety, wholeness and well-being of each individual person within God's
purpose for everyone. It seeks to safeguard the welfare of people of all ages
who are involved in whatever capacity with
the Church and its organisations. As a Church community, we accept that it is
the responsibility of all of us, ordained, professed, paid and
voluntary members, to work together to prevent the physical, sexual, emotional
abuse or neglect of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
