PAPAL VISIT ARRANGEMENTS
So far we have 89 confirmed requests for invitations to the Papal Visit on
16 September. Since 100 tickets have been requested, there are a few spare
places. The Invitations will be sent out to those on the list along with details
of the transport arrangements. The cost of the bus and the Pilgrim Pack -
Mass Book, DVD and so on - for everyone in Scotland is fixed at £20
per person regardless of distance. We will look for this when we send out
the Invitations. Please be aware, however, that help can be given from parish
funds to cover the expense. We are Group 207. We are able to accomodate 'latecomers'
provided you let us know as soon as possible. Details of the transport arrangements
will be with us soon. The ticket and a request for payment will be sent out
soon to those who have booked a place.
MAGNIFICAT
Magnificat - The Mass/Prayer/Hymn Books for the Holy Father's visit have arrived
and there are plenty. They
are for following the various services on televisioin or in Bellahouston or
Birmingham, and they contain prayers for the visit and the words and music
of the hymns. Please take one or two per family and if possible take some
for sick and housebound friends or family. There is no charge, but the Bishops
Conference has asked those who can to make a donation of £2 to cover
the costs of the visit. Please put your donation into the second collection
at Mass. We know what usually comes in so over the next few weeks anything
additional will be sent off.

MARY'S
MEALS - PLEASE
CAN YOU HELP?
Mary's
Meals work
with some of the poorest people in Third World countries. They offer help
by collecting unwanted or unused clothing and bedding - all textiles - and
turning them into funds to carry out their work overseas. For better clothing,
they receive a better price but even from rags they can raise money. Last
year, the clothing collections generated the amazing sum of approximately
£76,000! The raffle raised the amazing sum of £154000. Black poly
bags filled with textiles could generate enough funds to feed a child in Malawi
for a year - approximately £6.15. Mary's
Meals
are currently feeding over 400000 worldwide and with your help we hope to
continue expanding our feeding programme. A room in the Parish Centre will
be available all day on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 August for donations. The
van will uplift after the Masses on Sunday 29 August. Mary's
Meals
regrets that they are unable to accept bric-a-brac or collect in the evening.
Raffle tickets will be sold after all Masses this weekend.
VISITORS
Are you visiting us for Mass? Please know that you are very welcome. During
the 10.00 am Mass there is a Children’s Liturgy provided for preschool children,
children in Primaries 1 to 3 and a Sacramental Programme for children in Primary
4. After the 10.00 am Mass, tea, coffee cakes and buns are available in the
Parish Centre. At all of our weekend Masses, we have a second collection for
our Parish Centre debt.

SAINT VINCENT DE
PAUL SOCIETY
The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul would like to invite any interested
person over eighteen years of age to join Saint Peter’s Conference and take
part in the work of the Society in making contact with and assisting those
who need help or support in the local Community of Ardrossan. This involves
attending the weekly meeting on a Monday evening which lasts about one hour,
taking a turn in assisting with the box collection after Sunday Masses and
visiting those who have requested assistance normally in twos no more than
one hour during the week. If you feel you may be able to help with this work,
please give your name and telephone number to any member of the Society. Thank
you for your help.
SAINT VINCENT DE
PAUL SOCIETY - COFFEE MORNING
The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul is holding a Coffee Morning on Saturday
11 September from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm. There will be various stalls and a
prize raffle. Donations for any of the stalls - bakery, books, bric a brac
- as well as prizes for the raffle will be most welcome and can be notified
to any member of the Conference. The Conference plans to divide the proceeds
of the event among our Twin Conferences, three in India and one in South Africa.
As always, we ask for your generous support and hope with your help to assist
in the work and projects carried out by our overseas brothers and sisters
among the poor and needy in these two countries.
HOLY LAND INFORMATION EVENING
There will be a gathering for those who would like to find out more about
a tour of the Holy Land in 2012 on Sunday 29 August in Park Church, Ardrossan

of May 2012, staying in Jerusalem and Tiberius, visiting many holy sites in
Israel and Palestine. For more details, please phone Ron or Sheila Lavelette

and well-being of each individual person within God's purpose for everyone.
It seeks to safeguard the welfare of people of all ages who are involved in
whatever capacity with
the Church and its organisations. As a Church community, we accept that it
is the responsibility of all of us, ordained, professed, paid and
