NOVEMBER LISTS
During November, Mass will be offered for those whose names you put on the November Lists. Try to include all family members, friends and so on. God knows their names and dates but it is good for us to remember. Take the lists and put them in an envelope and leave it in the basket by the altar or drop it in the collection bag. A Mass offering may be included but is not necessary.

REMEMBRANCE DAY SERVICE AND WREATH LAYING
The annual Remembrance Day Service and wreath laying will be held at 1.00 pm on Sunday 14 November in the Civic Centre, Glasgow Street.

MASS FOR BEREAVED PEOPLE
There will be a Mass on Monday 29 November at 7.00 pm for those bereaved during this year. We will remember the families of Catherine McEvoy, June Doherty, Isabella Dougherty, Gerry Brown, Janet Retzbach, John Carrick, Tommy Coulter, Janie Clark, Annie Rankine, Barbara Scott, Michael Barr, John Maher junior, Tom Atkins, Sheelagh Kelly, Andrew Toner, Leslie Aitken, Elizabeth Hosie, Margaret Finnegan, James Murphy, Rosaleen Casey, Eamon Lennon junior, Cameron McCallum, Sandra White, Jean McGowan, Jamie Campbell, Ann Kennedy, Alan Priestly and all other families who have been bereaved. CEMETERY MASS
The annual Cemetery Mass will be celebrated in Ardrossan Cemetery on Sunday 14 November at 3.00 pm. The Mass will be offered for those buried there.

ANNUAL DIOCESAN MASS FOR THE DEAD
The annual Mass for the dead - priests and people - will be held in Saint Margaret's Cathedral, John Street, Ayr on Thursday 25 November at 7.30 pm.

SAINT PETER’S SCHOOL CHRISTMAS FAYRE
Saint Peter's School Fayre is on Thursday 25 November.

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS (RCIA)
The process of finding out more about being a Catholic can be learned through RCIA. Please come to a meeting in the Parish House - or bring a friend - on Thursday 18 after 7.00 Mass.

COMBONI SISTERS CALENDARS
The Comboni Sisters will sell their 2011 calendars after the Masses this weekend.

NATIONAL ADOPTION WEEK
National Adoption Week falls during November. If you would like more information about adopting a child, phone Saint Margaret’s Children and Family Care Society on 0141 332 8371 between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm any day.

PARISH PILGRIMAGE TO LOURDES 2011
The parish pilgrimage to Lourdes will be from Monday 4 to Friday 8 July 2011. The costs are £413 for bed and breakfast, £448 for half board and £490 for full board. We need to get and pay for a coach to and from Manchester but there will be direct flights to and from Lourdes. This involves an early start from Ardrossan. We need to have expressions of interest before Christmas to see if it is viable. Anyone interested in joining the Group or who would like to know more details, please contact Harry Sammons or phone 01294 469006. Booking forms are available now.

BURNS SUPPER
The Burns Supper is a 'not to be missed' event. It will take place on Saturday 12 February 2011. Tickets cost £12.50 and must be booked in advance. The list is now open.

50/50 CLUB
The 50/50 Club is an important fund raiser for the parish. If you would like to join, please contact the promoter, Myriame Sammons or phone 469006.

MARY'S MEALS, SCOTTISH CATHOLIC INTERNATIONAL AID FUND AND THE MISSIONARY SOCIETIES
These charities are always in need of any help you can give them.

CHERNOBYL CHILDREN'S LIFELINE
A Fashion Show and Sale in Aid of Chernobyl Children's Lifeline will be held in Saint John's Church Hall, Stevenston on Monday 29 November at 7.30 pm. There will be a selection of clothes from high street shops such as Next, Marks and Spencer, Oasis, River Island, House of Fraser at fantastically reduced prizes. There is no obligation to buy. You may bring your own bottle. Tickets cost £4 for over 16s only. For tickets, please contact Michael or Lisa Lafferty or phone 01294 461234.

LEGION OF MARY
The
Legion of Mary meets weekly and prays for the parish. The members visit the sick and house-bound. The Legion can always do with new male and female members giving as much or as little time as they can afford. Speak to Canon Matt or any of the members.

COLLECTION ENVELOPES AND STANDING ORDER FORMS
We are due to order the new envelopes soon. If you don’t have envelopes and would like a set, please let us know. If you are able to start using a standing order, again please let us know. Either way we are running on empty these days and every bit of support is valuable.

VISITORS
Are you visiting us for Mass? Please know that you are very welcome. During the 10.00 am Mass there is a Children’s Liturgy provided for preschool children, children in Primaries 1 to 3 and a Sacramental Programme for children in Primary 4. After the 10.00 am Mass, tea, coffee cakes and buns are available in the Parish Centre. At all of our weekend Masses, we have a second collection for our Parish Centre debt.

HILLHOUSE CARE - INNOCENTS
Any baby items, prams, cots, clothing for children from birth to sixteen years or any goods that can be sold in the charity shop would be gratefully accepted by Hillhouse Care. A box is available at the stall for small items and toiletries for baby and mother. Please contact Frank or Josephine Coulter or phone 602179 for more information or uplift of goods. Thank you.

You know that you really ought to celebrate the Sacrament of Forgiveness before Christmas. Locally, there are many opportunities. The Sacrament is offered in December on:

RAINBOWS AND BROWNIES
There will be no meetings of the Rainbows and Brownies for the Monday night groups only due to school holiday on 15 November. The next meetings are on Monday 22 at the normal times.

SPARE WOOL
The Knitting Group at Barony Saint John’s Church meets on Wednesday mornings from 10.30am to 12 noon. The group knits for various good causes and ask if anyone has any spare wool. The odd ball is often useful. For more information, please contact Fiona Liddell or phone 462504. Thank you.

SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY
The
Saint Vincent de Paul Society meets weekly, assists with the passkeeping and collecting duties in Church and runs a telephone helpline for those in financial difficulty. We are currently seeking new male and female members. You must be over 18. Please speak to Canon Matt or any of the members.

WORLD YOUTH DAY 2011 - MADRID
World Youth Day is an international festival of Catholic faith with Pope Benedict XVI and thousands of young people from all over the world. Hundreds of thousands of young people from every part of the world gather to celebrate a Festival of Faith. Some of us went to Sydney in 2008, some to Cologne in 2005 and some to Toronto in 2002. The next World Youth Day is nearer home in Madrid, Spain next year. You must be 16 by 31 December 2011 to be eligible. YOUTH FOR LOURDES
A group of young people from the diocese is travelling to Lourdes to assist the sick and then having a few days holiday together. The dates are 3 to 13 July 2011. You must be between 16 and 23 in July 2011. The cost is £550. SAINT ANNE'S GUILD
Saint Anne's Guild meets weekly on a Tuesday at 7.00 pm. It is open to all women in the parish and beyond. Speak to any of the members and feel free to join any of the meetings.
