SOCIAL EVENTS
During the winter months, we need to organise a few social events - for the fun of it. The sail to Arran and the barbecue were well attended and enjoyed. We have very heavy expenditure on a new heating boiler for the church and the eventual painting of the church. Suggestions will always be welcome.

THE NEW MISSAL
A document titled Getting To Know The New Roman Missal can be accessed by clicking here. You might find it useful. We begin to use the new translation in September and the new texts for the prayers and so on will be introduced in Advent. There will be pew cards' available for the start. Please use them and leave them in the pews. If you wish a pocket or handbag copy, they will be available from the stall. At the beginning, the responses and the slightly new versions of the Gloria and Creed are all that matter. Please God we will get used to responding “and with your spirit” instead of “and also with you" very soon. The Readings are not changing but they will conclude with “The Word of the Lord” instead of “This is the Word of the Lord.”. The new Altar Missal is ordered. It was a gift from a family in the parish. Very soon, Sunday and even Daily Missals will be available to order. Magnificat will use the new translations as they are introduced.

DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE TO THE HOLY LAND
A diocesan pilgrimage to the Holy Land, led by Bishop Cunningham, has been organised for 15 to 22 October 2012. It is expected that this pilgrimage group will be quite small in number - between 30 and 40 pilgrims - therefore early booking is recommended. For more information, please see the poster and leaflets provided. Further details he obtained by contacting Mancunia Travel Limited.

MARY'S MEALS
Mary's Meals work with some of the poorest people in Third World countries. They offer help by collecting unwanted or unused clothing and bedding - all textiles - and turning them into funds to carry out their work overseas. Our annual collection of used clothes and textiles only takes place on the weekend of 27 and 28 August. Now would be a good time to get ready.

PAPAL BLESSINGS
Papal Blessings for a wedding, wedding anniversary or a special birthday can be ordered at the stall. The cost of the parchment and postage is about £30. Please leave plenty of time.

Are you visiting us for Mass? Please know that you are very welcome.
