Have you signed a Gift Aid Form? If you pay tax, then every £1 you give to the Parish is worth £1.28 to us. Forms are available.

The help you are giving to pay for the new boiler is very, very useful. The brown envelope donations of £20+ - and gift-aided if you can - is certainly easing the pain. Some fundraising by parish groups would be a great help. Brown envelope donations of £155 bring the total to £3071.
CHRISTMAS CARDS AND CALENDARS
A lovely selection to Christmas cards and calendars is available at the Stall.
Papal Blessings for a wedding, wedding anniversary or a special birthday can be ordered at the stall. The cost of the parchment and postage is about £30. Please leave plenty of time.

Tickets, costing £5, are available from the parish office and stall where raffle prize donations will be gratefully accepted. Please support this fun evening to pay for the boiler. Thanks.
FAMILY BINGO NIGHT
On Thursday 17 November, the Brownies and Guides are having a Family Bingo Night in aid of Saint Peter’s. Doors open at 6.30 pm for a 7.00 pm start. Any donation of raffle prizes would be very much appreciated and can be handed in to the Parish Centre at any time. Everyone is welcome.

During the winter months, we need to organise a few social events - for the fun of it. The sail to Arran and the barbecue were well attended and enjoyed. We have very heavy expenditure on a new heating boiler for the church and the eventual painting of the church. Suggestions will always be welcome.
SCOTTISH CATHOLIC INTERNATIONAL AID FUND (SCIAF)
SCIAF is holding catch-up sessions for anyone interested in finding out more about its work. You can meet parish volunteers in your diocese and chat to SCIAF staff about the issues that matter to your parish. For more information, phone 0141 354 5524, email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit www.sciaf2.org.uk/parish.
THE NEW MISSAL
A document titled Getting To Know The New Roman Missal can be accessed by clicking here. Please be patient. Having to struggle a little bit with new ways of saying things means that we are paying more attention to the words we say at Mass! Pocket sized Mass BooksPocket sized Mass Books are available from the stall at £2. The responses and the (slightly) new versions of the Gloria and Creed are your parts - most of the changes are in the priest’s parts of the Mass. The Readings are not changing but they will conclude “The Word of the Lord” instead of “This is the Word of the Lord.”. To bring some uniformity in Scotland the Bishops ask that we stand from the invitation “Pray, brothers and sister….” to the end of the “Holy, holy…” and then kneel for the Eucharistic Prayer. We will introduce that shortly. Please leave the new Mass Response cards on the pews.
Isabel would like to thank Canon Matt and all the wonderful parishioners of Saint Peter’s for their Mass intentions, prayers and good wishes she has experienced during her illness in the past year. “I have been overwhelmed by the love and support shown to me and my family. My course of treatment is now complete and I hope that, God willing, I will continue on the road to recovery.” The Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for the intentions of all the parishioners.
A short service will be held on Remembrance Day, Friday 11 November at 3.00 pm in Ardrossan Cemetery for the crew of HMS Dasher. All are welcome.
A joint service for Remembrance Sunday, 13 November, will be held at 1.00 pm in the Evangelical Union Church, Glasgow Street then at 1.30 at the Garden of Remembrance.
There is a new website for the podcast recordings of the Sunday scripture reflections offered by priests and laity of the diocese. Go to www.GallowayPodcasts.org.uk to listen to the reflections. In addition, at the site you will find a podcast recording from Father Willie Boyd on vocations promotion and the forthcoming Being Church day to be held on 13 November.
SINGING THE MASS

The second takes place in Saint Joseph’s Church, Kilmarnock on Saturday 12 November from 1.00 pm, concluding with the Vigil Mass. During the afternoon, the group will have the opportunity to prepare, in some detail, music for the evening Mass. The Mass of the Resurrection setting will be taught, hopefully in parts, and used at both Masses. Booking forms are available from this website and from your parish priest and parish musicians. If a parish would like to host an event like this delivered by the Galloway Music Network please contact Nicola Lawrence at the number given.

PROTECTION OF CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE ADULTS - MISSION STATEMENT
The Catholic Church in Scotland is concerned with the lives, safety, wholeness and well-being of each individual person within God's purpose for everyone. It seeks to safeguard the welfare of people of all ages who are involved in whatever capacity with the Church and its organisations. As a Church community, we accept that it is the responsibility of all of us, ordained, professed, paid and voluntary members, to work together to prevent the physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
