SUNDAY MASS TIMES
Sunday Mass times in Saint Peter's are 5.30 pm Vigil and 10.30 am. Sunday Mass times in other local parishes can be seen here.

SACRAMENT OF FORGIVENESS
The Sacrament of Forgiveness is available at any suitable time as well as from 4.30 pm before the Vigil Mass on Saturday evenings.

FINANCES
Bankers Orders the Parish and Parish Centre amount to £3800 per month. Every month, we pay off our Parish Centre debt by £3000 and pay a levy of £1450 to the Diocese. We are grateful for your generous support in collections. If you can manage a little more from time to time, it would be a great help. Have you thought of using a Bankers Order? It assists us with the safe handling of cash. Banker's Orders for the Parish and Centre amount to an average of £3800 per month. Forms are available. Would you consider remembering Saint Peter's in your will?

OFFERTORY COLLECTION
Last weekend's Offertory collection amounted to £682.34 - many thanks.

PARISH CENTRE COLLECTION
Last weekend's collection for the Parish Centre amounted to
£258.26 - many thanks.

CHURCH REPAIRS
The help you give for Church repairs by dropping in a white envelope from time to time is invaluable. We have a continuing task in keeping the Church wind and watertight. We are grateful for a recent donation of £40. New doors have been installed in the parish Centre.

GIFT AID
The Inland Revenue now requires us to use a new style of Gift Aid form. These are available at the back of the Church. If you pay tax, please complete the new form and return it to the box provided. This allows us to provide the additional information required on the Gift Aid claim. Gift Aid is a vital source of income. All that is needed is that you pay tax. You simply declare that you give funds to the Church. We do the rest. Why not sign a form today? We get back an extra 25p for every £1 you give the Church in your weekly collection or by way of a donation. There is no need to cancel or renew it. We simply claim in the income we receive.

READERS
Next weekend's readers are Margaret Munn at 5.30 pm and Angela Body at 10.30 am.

ALTAR SERVERS
Next weekend's altar servers are Group 2 at 5.30 pm and Group 3 at 10.30 am.

SUNDAY TEAS
Next Sunday's teas will be served by Sadie Gilmour’s team.

CHILDREN'S LITURGY
The Children's Liturgy restarts in September.

SEVENTY-FIFTH ANNIVERSARY OF SAINT PETER'S
Our Church, Saint Peter in Chains, was opened on 2 October 1938 which means it will be seventy-five years open this October. We are looking to arrange some small celebration of the event. Were you at the opening Mass? It would be good to have a list of those who were there - perhaps, your parents or family friends, and so on. George McGrattan will compile a list. Do you have any photographs of the opening Mass or of memorable events of the seventy-five years? We could make a DVD of them to show at our celebration. The photos would be returned to you. We will have a celebration Mass - probably on the following Saturday evening and a buffet supper after Mass - sorry, no disco music - with time to chat. I will be looking for helpers later and some more ideas.

EIGHT YEARS OF SAINT PETER’S WEBSITE
Eight years ago, on 13 July 2005, Saint Peter's website was launched. The site has over 1700 web pages, 1000 pictures, 475 bulletins between 1960 and 2013, 14000 links and some audio and video clips. It been viewed in 78 countries worldwide and had over 92000 visits. Over 1200 of our deceased relatives and friends are remembered in our Anniversary List and some are featured in our Memoriam Cards page. The site contains many articles on past and present spiritual and community life in Saint Peter's. Canon Matt and the website author are very grateful to those who have accessed the site, lent photographs, passed on stories, identified errors, made suggestions and expressed compliments. The aims of the site are to make parishioners and others aware of current events and record our history. If you can help with this project - particularly as the Church approaches its seventy-fifth anniversary - please speak to Canon Matt or contact WebsiteAuthor@SaintPeterinChains.net.

CHRISTIAN AID BARBECUE
As you know, we do not take part in the door-to-door collection. I do not like the idea so I hope we can continue the tradition of having a barbecue on a Sunday afternoon before the schools re-open. I’ll get back to you on this.

NEW SUNDAY SERVICE TO CAMPBELTOWN
The new Sunday service to from Ardrossan to Campbeltown seems promising for a picnic at sea or the evening sail to Arran
as in past years. Are there any thoughts about it?

PEOPLE TO ASSIST IN CHURCH
My appeal for people to assist in Church almost universally fell on deaf ears but very many thanks to those who did offer - two to assist with laundering the altar linen, one to be a reader and one to assist by taking Holy Communion to the sick. I will be in touch soon. Disappointed, discouraged, unimpressed and other thoughts come to mind but I am grateful to those who do help so faithfully on a regular basis.

SPECIAL RELIGIOUS DEVELOPMENT GROUP - SPRED IN STEVENSTON
SPRED is a journey in faith and friendship with our parishioners who have learning difficulties. A group meets in Saint John’s Hall, Stevenston on a Wednesday evening from 7.00 to 9.00 pm. Volunteers are required for the continuing of this beautiful ministry. No experience is necessary as training will be given. Could you consider offering yourself during this Year of Faith? If you would like to know more, please contact Liz Petrie on 467296.

50/50 CLUB
Many thanks to all members for your continued support - it is appreciated. If you would like to join the 50/50 Club and have the chance to win prizes, please contact the Promoter, Mrs Myriame Sammons on 01294 469006.

PARISH LOURDES GROUP
The Parish Lourdes Group Committee works very hard and at present only has eight members. If anyone is interested in joining, please contact Harry Sammons on 01294 469006.
All are welcome. For more information, phone 468122.

SAINT PADRE PIO INTERCESSORY PRAYER GROUP
The Saint Padre Pio Intercessory Group meets on the first Friday of every month in the Parish Centre after Mass from about 10.45 am to 12 noon.

POLISH MASS - MASA W POLSCE
There will be a Mass at Saint John’s, Stevenston on Sunday 14 July at 8.00 pm. Mass will be celebrated in Polish. All are welcome.

USED PRINTER CARTRIDGES AND OLD MOBILE PHONES
There is a large green box in the foyer of the Parish Centre and a small box at the stall where you can place all old printer cartridges and mobile phones for us to recycle. Through recycling these, we can raise some much-needed funds. Thanks.

STARTER PACKS
Starter packs is an initiative of the Scottish Churches organised locally by Women's Aid. When people are allocated a house they very often don’t have the basic necessities and many tenancies fail as a result. This initiative tries to provide a starter pack. There is a leaflet explaining our part in it.

THE STALL
The stall is open at all Mass times during the week and at the weekend. Mass cards, large print Mass books, Mass books, Papal Blessings, lapel crosses, novena candles, grave candles and many other religious goods are available from the stall.

SCOTLAND’S RIO
Would you like to celebrate Brazil’s World Youth Day in Scotland this summer? A Scottish World Youth Day event with talks, prayer, worship, social events, live links to Brazil, a Brazilian festival and much more will take place at Stirling University from 25 to 28 July. It is open to those aged from fourteen to twenty-five years. The cost is £150 including accommodation, transport and food. Please complete an application form and return it soon. Forms are available from the Canon Matt or by visiting www.GallowayYouth.org.uk which has more information. The Parish will offer some financial support.

VISITORS
Are you visiting us for Mass? Please know that you are very welcome. During the 10.30 am Mass outwith holidays, there is a Children’s Liturgy provided for preschool children, children in Primaries 1 to 3 and a Sacramental Programme for children in Primary 4. After the 10.30 am Mass, tea, coffee cakes and buns are available in the Parish Centre. At both of our weekend Masses, we have a second collection for our Parish Centre debt.

ANNUAL PILGRIMAGE TO WHITHORN
The annual pilgrimage to Whithorn takes place on Sunday 25 August 2013 with Mass at Saint Ninian’s Cave at 4.00 pm and an extra Mass in Saint Ninian’s Church at 4.45 pm for those who cannot make the journey to the cave.

Grateful thanks to Saint Clare for favours received. May the Sacred Heart of Jesus be praised, adored and glorified and loved today and every day throughout the world. Amen. DJ
