FINANCES
Bankers Orders for the parish and Parish Centre amount to £3800 per month. Every month, we pay a levy of £1450 to the Diocese. We are grateful for your generous support in collections. If you can manage a little more from time to time, it would be a great help. Have you thought of using a Bankers Order? It assists us with the safe handling of cash. Banker's Orders for the Parish and Centre amount to an average of £3800 per month. Forms are available. Would you consider remembering Saint Peter's in your will?

OFFERTORY COLLECTION
Last weekend's Offertory collection amounted to £663.59 - many thanks.

BUILDING FUND COLLECTION
Last weekend's Building Fund collection amounted to £230.97 - many thanks.

MARY'S MEAL'S COLLECTION
Next weekend's second collection will be for Mary's Meals.

GIFT AID
The Inland Revenue now requires us to use a new style of Gift Aid form. These are available at the back of the Church and on the parish website. If you pay tax, please complete the new form and return it to the box provided. This allows us to provide the additional information required on the Gift Aid claim. Gift Aid is a vital source of income. All that is needed is that you pay tax. You simply declare that you give funds to the Church. We do the rest. Why not sign a form today? We get back an extra 25p for every £1 you give the Church in your weekly collection or by way of a donation. There is no need to cancel or renew it. We simply claim in the income we receive.

COLLECTION ENVELOPES
New collection envelopes are now available at the stall. Please let us know if you wish to switch to a standing order. Forms are available.

IN MEMORY OF DANIEL
A little while ago we buried little Daniel Gilmour who died from Neuroblastoma. Daniel’s Dad is cycling 1300 kilometres of the Rhine in Germany for North Ayrshire Cancer Care, CLIC Sargent and the Neuroblastoma Society. Will you sponsor him? There is a sponsor form at the stall. Thanks.

EMBRACING CHANGE
Embracing Change is the process going on throughout the Diocese as we prepare for a time when we have fewer priests and a Church being enlivened by Pope Francis. The full text of the notes of our meetings is on the parish website, as is a summary of the Pentecost Service. Go to www.SaintPeterInChains.net. This might give you a flavour of our thinking and planning. Please get involved by reading the notes, making suggestions and so on. If you would like a copy of the notes - as opposed to reading them on the website - please send an email requesting a copy. I’ll happily print out a copy for anyone who asks. The afternoon meeting in Saint Matthew's Academy was very well attended. Again the full report of the meeting and its various parts will be on the website as soon as it is finalised - holidays - and copies can be made available to everyone who asks.

EMBRACING CHANGE - NEXT STEPS
We are now looking for ten volunteers to continue the Embracing Change process. There will be a meeting in Saint Matthew’s Academy on the afternoon of Sunday, 7 September. It is a 'training' meeting for parishioners from the deanery to take part in the process the priests completed earlier in the year. It is to enable everyone to begin to look at the Church in a new way - to shape our future. The training session will be delivered by Paul and David who led the open meeting on 29 June. Please give your name to Canon Matt.

GALLOWAY LOURDES HOSPITALITÉ - LOURDES REUNION DINNER DANCE
The Lourdes Reunion dinner Dance will be held on Saturday 9 August from 7.30 to 11.30 pm in Saint John's Church Hall, Stevenston at a cost of £7.50. All former Lourdes pilgrims and friends are very welcome. Tickets and further information are available from Myriame Sammons on 469006. It is important to know numbers attending for catering purposes. Your continuing support is very much appreciated.

MARY’S MEALS CLOTHING AND TEXTILES COLLECTION
The team from Mary's Meals will be here on the weekend of 9 and 10 August. They will collect and use all textiles, clothes, bedding, shoes, et cetera but no bric-a-brac. Two polythene bags of textiles can generate enough income to feed a child in Malawi for a year. Donations can be left in the Parish Centre on Saturday all day and on Sunday till 12 noon only.

AFTERNOON SAIL TO CAMPBELTOWN
The ferry for Campbeltown leaves Ardrossan at 1.50 pm and returns at 7.45 pm every Sunday. Weather permitting - you need only book and buy a ticket if it is a good day - we could have a picnic and sail on Sunday 10 August? Quite a few have agreed—so it is on!

CHRISTIAN AID BARBECUE
A Christian Aid barbecue - to make up for our not taking part in the door-to-door collection during Christian Aid Week - will take place on Sunday 17 August from 2.00 to 4.30 pm in the Church grounds. The barbecue is shared with the Ardrossan Churches Group.

SCOTTISH GRANDPARENTS' PILGRIMAGE

During the afternoon, the group will have the opportunity to prepare in some detail, music for the evening Mass. More information and booking forms are available at www.GallowayMusic.net. The Mass of Christ The Saviour by Dan Schutte will be taught in soprano, alto, tenor and bass parts and used at Mass. It is then hoped that many participants will travel to Whithorn on Sunday 31 August to lead the music at the annual pilgrimage Mass at Saint Ninian’s Cave.
