SUNDAY MASS TIMES
Sunday Mass times in Saint Peter's are 5.30 pm Vigil and 10.30 am. Sunday Mass times in other local parishes can be seen here.

SACRAMENT OF FORGIVENESS
The Sacrament of Forgiveness is available at any suitable time as well as from 4.30 pm before the Vigil Mass on Saturday evenings.

FINANCES
Bankers Orders for the parish and Parish Centre amount to £3800 per month. Every month, we pay a levy of £1450 to the Diocese. We are grateful for your generous support in collections. If you can manage a little more from time to time, it would be a great help. Have you thought of using a Bankers Order? It assists us with the safe handling of cash. Banker's Orders for the Parish and Centre amount to an average of £3800 per month. Forms are available. Would you consider remembering Saint Peter's in your will?

OFFERTORY COLLECTION
Last weekend's Offertory collection amounted to £582.09 - many thanks.

MAINTENANCE FUND COLLECTION
Last weekend's Maintenance Fund collection amounted to £198.85 - many thanks.

GIFT AID
The Inland Revenue now requires us to use a new style of Gift Aid form. These are available at the back of the Church and on the parish website. If you pay tax, please complete the new form and return it to the box provided. This allows us to provide the additional information required on the Gift Aid claim. Gift Aid is a vital source of income. All that is needed is that you pay tax. You simply declare that you give funds to the Church. We do the rest. Why not sign a form today? We get back an extra 25p for every £1 you give the Church in your weekly collection or by way of a donation. There is no need to cancel or renew it. We simply claim in the income we receive.

COLLECTION ENVELOPES
New collection envelopes are now available at the stall. Please let us know if you wish to switch to a standing order. Forms are available.

READERS
Next weekend's readers are Julie Coldwell at 5.30 pm and Tom Reid and Sarah Vallance at 10.30 am.

ALTAR SERVERS
Next weekend's altar servers are Aidan and Calum at 5.30 pm and Group 2 at 10.30 am.

SUNDAY TEAS
Next Sunday's teas will be served by Loretta McLardy’s team.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY
The Children's Liturgy is celebrated during the 10.30 am Mass each Sunday. All children are welcome. Next week's helpers are Michelle Noble and Teresa Louden for the pre-fives, Mairi Barr and Krista Ward for primaries 1 and 2, Maria Paterson-Kidd and Sara Lopes for primary 3 and Denise Gilmour and Michelle Morton for primary 4.

OUR NEW BISHOP
Our new Bishop is Father William Nolan currently Parish Priest of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, East Kilbride. His ordination will take place on Saturday 14 February 2015 in the Grand Hall, Kilmarnock at 11.00 am. None of our Churches is big enough. We will try to organise a bus. We have been asked to give an indication of how many places we might need so there is a list at the Stall. This is not a bus list nor a firm booking list. It is just to have an indication so that places can be reserved.

HOLY HOUR
Holy Hour with a short introduction and a short concluding prayer will be held to pray for the new Bishop’s ministry in our diocese in Saint John’s Church, Stevenston at 3.00 pm on Sunday 8 February. Come and spend a little time in prayer.

CATHOLIC EDUCATION WEEK
We will mark Catholic Education Week at Sunday Mass on 14 and 15 February. The Education Week Mass will be on Wednesday 11 February at 7.00 pm in
Saint Matthew's Academy, Saltcoats. The Mass will have a particular focus on the Caritas pupils in sixth year.

CONFIRMATION AND FIRST COMMUNION
The Sacraments of Confirmation and First Communion will be celebrated this year at the 10.30 am Mass on Sundays 3, 10 and 17 May, as we have done for many years. The reason for the three Sundays is so that the children are easily called by name, have enough room for family and friends and are made to feel as special as they are. Twenty-nine children are on our list, including those added recently, so about ten children each Sunday would be comfortable. I will put a list at the stall for you to choose whichever Sunday suits. I am happy to add another Sunday or arrange any other date you may require. I know that family work and travel arrangements can be difficult. Just let me know. There will be a meeting for parents on 19 February at 7.30 pm in the Church.

ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY THOUSAND VISITS TO SAINT PETER’S WEBSITE
On 6 January 2015, the 120000th visit was made to Saint Peter’s website which was launched on 13 July 2005. The site has over 2000 web pages, 1200 pictures, 550 bulletins between 1960 and 2013, 19000 links, some audio and video clips and been viewed in 97 countries worldwide. Over 1300 of our deceased relatives and friends are remembered in our Anniversary List and some are featured in our Memoriam Cards page. The site contains many articles on past and present spiritual and community life in Saint Peter's. Canon Matt and the website author are very grateful to those who have accessed the site, lent photographs, passed on stories, identified errors, made suggestions and expressed compliments. The aims of the site are to make parishioners and others aware of current events and record our history. If you can help with this project, please speak to Canon Matt or contact WebsiteAuthor@SaintPeterinChains.net.

EMBRACING CHANGE
A Summary of the Meeting of the Deanery Priests on 18 November 2014 and a Summary of the Meeting in Saint Matthew's Academy on 30 November 2014 are now posted on Saint Peter's website. If you would like a copy, please ask and I will print one for you. The idea was to look at themes produced by previous meetings and then move on to some practical ideas we might try to carry out as we look for a way forward. Many ideas were put forward. The report is now being discussed by the Priests and we hope to move forward with some of the ideas. The whole purpose of Embracing Change is to move our ideas forward - to get away from a Church where decisions, plans, ideas and so on, are made by one person or a few people - to a Church fully involving everyone who wants to contribute. It calls for a new way of being Church. It might mean giving up old traditions, ways of doing things, even buildings and embracing new ideas about what Jesus is asking of us and where the Spirit is leading us. Pope Francis seems fearless in moving forward, we must be too.

REGISTRATION FOR NURSERY
Registration for Saint Peter’s Children’s Centre Nursery for children born between 1 March 2011 and 28 February 2013 will take place the week beginning 26 January on Monday to Friday from 9.30 to 11.30 am and 1.30 to 3.00 pm. Birth certificates should be produced at registration for funding purposes. All children aged three and above are funded through the local authority. If you cannot visit the nursery or the above times don’t suit, please phone Josephine or Lynda on 473030.

50/50 CLUB
Happy New Year 2015 to all 50/50 Club members. Renewal of memberships is now due at £15 for the year. Renewal reminders have been posted out and we would appreciate returns by the end of January if possible. Please contact the promoter, Mrs Myriame Sammons on 01294 469006 if there is a problem with your returns or any change of address et cetera. There will be an extra Early Bird draw for all members paid in January. Many thanks for you continued support of 50/50 Club.

MARY THE GIRL FROM GALILEE
The painting, Mary the Girl from Galilee, was a gift to the parish in memory of a former parishioner. It was commissioned by an Ardrossan resident and painted by David Reid of Irvine. We will soon get a few prints made from it for sale.

DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE TO LOURDES
The Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes will take place from 6 to 13 July 2015. Full details are on the poster at the Stall where booking forms are available.

VISITORS
Are you visiting us for Mass? Please know that you are very welcome. During the 10.30 am Mass outwith holidays, there is a Children’s Liturgy provided for preschool children, children in Primaries 1 to 3 and a Sacramental Programme for children in Primary 4. After the 10.30 am Mass, tea, coffee cakes and buns are available in the Parish Centre. At both of our weekend Masses, we have a second collection for our Parish Centre upkeep.
