SUNDAY MASS TIMES
Sunday Mass times
in Saint Peter's are 5.30 pm Vigil and 10.30 am. Sunday
Mass times in other local parishes can be
seen here.
SACRAMENT OF FORGIVENESS
The Sacrament of Forgiveness is available at any suitable time as well as
from 4.30 pm before the Vigil Mass on Saturday evenings.
HOSPITAL
CHAPLAINCY
If a member of your family or a friend is sick, please let us know and give
us the details. Deacon Bill Corbett (01292 521208, 07904 248948, Rev.BillCorbett@btinternet.com)
is the chaplain to Crosshouse Hospital and is assisted by the priest on call
each week. Canon Pat Keegans (01292 263488) is the chaplain to Ayr Hospital
and the Ayrshire Hospice.
FINANCES
Bankers Orders for the Parish and Parish Centre amount to £3800 per
month. Every month, we pay a levy of £1450 to the Diocese. We are grateful
for your generous support in collections. If you can manage a little more
from time to time, it would be a great help. A Standing Order would make the
handling of money so much easier. Have you signed a Gift Aid form? If you
are a taxpayer the Church would get 25p added to every £1 you donate.
COLLECTIONS
Last weekend's Offertory collection amounted to £784.09 and the Maintenance
Fund collection to £305.19 - many thanks.
GIFT AID
The Inland Revenue now requires us to use a new style of Gift
Aid form. These are available at the back of the Church and on the parish
website. If you pay tax, please complete the new form and return it to the
box provided. This allows us to provide the additional information required
on the Gift Aid claim. Gift Aid is a vital source of income. All that is needed
is that you pay tax. You simply declare that you give funds to the Church.
We do the rest. Why not sign a form today? We get back an extra 25p for every
£1 you give the Church in your weekly collection or by way of a donation.
There is no need to cancel or renew it. We simply claim in the income we receive.
PARISH RECORDS
Our parish records are covered by the Data Protection Act and are for parish
use only. We cannot give out phone numbers or addresses. Please help us to
keep our records up to date using the cards provided.
READERS
Next weekend's readers are Harry Sammons at 5.30
pm and Alfie Agostini and Georgette Lapina at 10.30 am.
ALTAR SERVERS
Next weekend's altar servers are Group 1 at 5.30
pm and Group 4 at 10.30 am.
CHILDREN’S
LITURGY
The
Children's Liturgy is celebrated during the 10.30 am Mass each Sunday. All
children are welcome. Next week's helpers are Geraldine Butcher and Gemma
Coldwell for the pre-fives and Claire Sweenie, Linda Martin and Aidan Grant
for primaries 1, 2 and 3.
SUNDAY
TEAS
Next Sunday's teas will be served by Sadie Gilmour's team.
Would
you consider making a team or joining a team that organises the teas and coffees
after Sunday 10.30 am Mass? If so, please leave your details at the Parish
Office or telephone 01294 464063.
SPRING CONCERT
Join Hart Voices on Saturday 28 May 2016 at 7.00 pm after Mass in the Church
for an evening of light choral music. Conducted by Roy Rashbrook of the choir
of Saint Paul's Cathedral, London, the choir is from Fleet, Hampshire and
this exclusive, one-off concert is part of its first ever Scottish tour. It
is organised by Clare Thomas, formerly of Saltcoats who is a member of this
choir. Tickets cost £10, £7 for concessions and are free for under-16s.
They are on sale at Cavani's, Hamilton Street, Saltcoats, Saint Peter's Parish
Office, Chita Thomas on 07732 301333 or via the choir's website www.HartVoices.org.uk.
CONFIRMATION AND FIRST COMMUNION
Our prayers this weekend are for Ellie C, Ross, Jessica, Kaiden, Mikey, Holly,
Evie, Sean, Jack, Eileen, Liam, Kaci, Sophie, Ellie W, Erin, Caleb, Amelia
and Jamie who will be Confirmed and receive Holy Communion for the first time.

EMBRACING CHANGE - PENTECOST SUNDAY
" ... and how they had recognised Him in the breaking of bread."
On Sunday 15 May, there will be a Journey with Saint Mary`s Deanery. There
is an invitation to reflect and pray on the Emmaus experience. We will meet
at Saint Mary's
Church, Saltcoats at 3.00 pm for the Liturgy of the Word and then
process to Saint Peter`s, Ardrossan while discussing the scripture readings.
At Saint Peter`s, there will be the Liturgy of the Eucharist. After the Eucharist,
we will go to the Parish Centre for tea and to see and talk with people who
are involved in supporting our communities, local and global. We find Jesus
in the poor. Let's find more ways to support those in need. If we have not
contacted your group and you would like to be represented, please contact
Anne McGuire on 07585 665751.
CHURCH DOORS
Before another winter hits us, we need to replace the Church doors. The main
doors swell badly in the rain and are impossible to open and shut properly.
Because the Church is an A-Listed building, more durable replacement doors
need to be specially made. This is being done but the total cost of main and
side doors will be over £10000. I need to make an appeal to you for
help. Brown envelopes will be available and any fundraising you can organise
will be extremely useful. Extra in the second collection is a perfect way
of helping. So far, donations total £1841.
SAINT PADRE PIO INTERCESSORY PRAYER GROUP
The Saint Padre Pio Intercessory Prayer Group, which includes the Chaplet
of Divine Mercy, will start again on Friday 6 May and thereafter on the first
Friday of each month, usually after Mass, from 10.45 to 11.45 am. All are
welcome.
50/50 CLUB
The annual sum of £1500 has been given to the Parish Account - many
thanks to our members. It is greatly appreciated. The club has been in existence
for many years now and contributes to the parish in several ways. More members
would be very, very welcome. Congratulations to the winners in April draw
who each win £25 - 46 Bernard McCormick, 13 David Atkins, 87 William
Timpany and 129 Sadie O'Reilly. The winner of the Bonus Prize for April is
238 Phyliss Kennedy who wins £100. We appreciate the continued support
of all our members, although we have 36 vacant places due to the fall in membership
over the last two years. We also await the renewal for 2016 of approximately
eight members who have not replied to renewal reminders in the post. We ask
them to get in touch with the Promoter as soon as possible. Please let us
know of any change of address as all prizes are posted out to the winners'
addresses on our database. If you would like to join the 50/50 Club, please
telephone Myriame Sammons on 01294 469006.
COLLECTION ENVELOPES
New collection envelopes are still available at the stall.
THE SCOTTISH REFORMATION
A series of talks and discussions on the Reformation will be given in Saint
Bride's Church, West Kilbride on Wednesday evenings from 7.30 to 9.00
pm. The remaining dates are 25 May and 22 June. The six speakers, men and
women, include people from both the Reformed and Catholic traditions. If you
are interested, please go along. If you remember, please let Father Boland
know on joe-boland@btconnect.com. Details are on the poster.
USED STAMPS
Father Kyran Murphy, of Saint Patrick's Missionary Society, has written thanking
us for the used stamps. He says used stamps are always a good fundraiser for
the Missions.
VISITORS
Are you visiting us for Mass? Please know that you are very welcome. During
the 10.30 am Mass outwith holidays, there is a Children’s Liturgy provided
for preschool children, children in Primaries 1 to 3 and a Sacramental Programme
for children in Primary 4. After the 10.30 am Mass, tea, coffee cakes and
buns are available in the Parish Centre. At both of our weekend Masses, we
have a second collection for Church maintenance.
ADVERTISER SUPPORT
Our advertisers would welcome your support. We are grateful for their continuing
sponsorship. We are grateful for the support of Mr and Mrs Sohal, Nisa Stores,
Glasgow Street for the weekly donation of tea, coffee and milk for the Sunday
teas.
PROTECTION OF CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE ADULTS - MISSION STATEMENT
The Catholic Church in Scotland is concerned with the lives, safety, wholeness
and well-being of each individual person within God's purpose for everyone.
It seeks to safeguard the welfare of people of all ages who are involved in
whatever capacity with
the Church and its organisations. As a Church community, we accept that it
is the responsibility of all of us, ordained, professed, paid and
voluntary members, to work together to prevent the physical, sexual, emotional
abuse or neglect of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
