HOSPITAL CHAPLAINCY

Deacon Bill Corbett (01292 521208, 07904 248948, Rev.BillCorbett@btinternet.com) is the chaplain to Crosshouse Hospital and is assisted by the priest on call each week. Canon Pat Keegans (01292 263488) is the chaplain to Ayr Hospital and the Ayrshire Hospice.

FINANCES
Bankers Orders for the Parish and Parish Centre amount to £3800 per month. Every month, we pay a levy of £1450 to the Diocese. We are grateful for your generous support in collections. If you can manage a little more from time to time, it would be a great help. A Standing Order would make the handling of money so much easier. Have you signed a Gift Aid form? If you are a taxpayer the Church would get 25p added to every £1 you donate.

COLLECTIONS
Last weekend's Offertory collection amounted to £694.76 and the Maintenance Fund collection to £301.03 - many thanks.

GIFT AID
The Inland Revenue now requires us to use a new style of Gift Aid form. These are available at the back of the Church and on the parish website. If you pay tax, please complete the new form and return it to the box provided. This allows us to provide the additional information required on the Gift Aid claim. Gift Aid is a vital source of income. All that is needed is that you pay tax. You simply declare that you give funds to the Church. We do the rest. Why not sign a form today? We get back an extra 25p for every £1 you give the Church in your weekly collection or by way of a donation. There is no need to cancel or renew it. We simply claim in the income we receive.

PARISH RECORDS
Our parish records are covered by the Data Protection Act and are for parish use only. We cannot give out phone numbers or addresses. Please help us to keep our records up to date using the cards provided.

READERS
Next weekend's readers are Katrina Pollock at 5.30 pm and Patricia Milligan at 10.30 am.

ALTAR SERVERS
Next weekend's altar servers are Group 1 at 5.30 pm and Group 5 at 10.30 am.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY
The Children's Liturgy is celebrated during the 10.30 am Mass each Sunday. All children are welcome. Next week's helpers are Michelle Stevenson and Emma Paterson for the pre-fives and Frances Gemmell, Gayle Paterson and Emily Tarbet for primaries 1, 2 and 3.

SUNDAY TEAS
Next Sunday's teas will be served by Saint Peter's team.
Would you consider making a team or joining a team that organises the teas and coffees after Sunday 10.30 am Mass? If so, please leave your details at the Parish Office or telephone 01294 464063.

We continue to collect all items listed on the leaflet but are particularly looking for summer shorts, t-shirts, skirts, dresses, flip-flops and backpacks for children aged between four and twelve. These can be new or used in good condition. Please put any items you wish to donate into the blue container in the Church porch and pick up the 2016 magazine to see how the work is progressing. There is also a leaflet with the full list of items required. Thank you.

We wish to thank all parents for their continued support to both groups and their leaders and our grateful thanks for the use of the Parish Centre during the year.

THANK YOU
Thank you to the Thursday night Brownies and Guides for the donation of £259 for the use of the Parish Centre.

CHURCH DOORS
The new side door to the Church has been fitted - take a look at it. Before another winter hits us, we need to replace the front doors. They swell badly in the rain and are impossible to open and shut properly. Because the Church is an A-Listed building, more durable replacement doors need to be specially made. This is being done but the total cost of main and side doors will be over £10000. I need to make an appeal to you for help. Brown envelopes will be available and any fundraising you can organise will be extremely useful. Extra in the second collection is a perfect way of helping. So far, donations total £2643.

CLOTHING APPEAL IN AID OF CHERNOBYL CHILDREN'S LIFELINE
We will have another group of twelve girls coming from the Ukraine to Ayrshire in August for four weeks. Some of these children have again been selected because they either have parents in the military fighting in the East of Ukraine or they have been displaced due to the war so they all need our help more than ever. We are looking to make up a bag pack for each child when they arrive so we need donations of new pyjamas, underwear, socks, leggings, t-shirts, to fit girls aged between nine and thirteen years. We also need felt pens, coloured pencils, pencil cases, hair brushes, hair clips, bobbles et cetera. Any financial help would be greatly appreciated. I thank you in advance for your continued support of my charity and I hope you get the chance to meet the children when they visit
Saint John’s Church, Stevenston. If you have anything to donate or would be interested in finding out more about the charity, please contact Michael or Lisa Lafferty on 01294 461234 or 07813 650411.                               Michael Lafferty

COLLECTION ENVELOPES
New collection envelopes are still available at the stall.

THE SCOTTISH REFORMATION
A series of talks and discussions on the Reformation will be given in Saint Bride's Church, West Kilbride on Wednesday evenings from 7.30 to 9.00 pm. The remaining date is 22 June. The six speakers, men and women, include people from both the Reformed and Catholic traditions. If you are interested, please go along. If you remember, please let Father Boland know on joe-boland@btconnect.com. Details are on the poster.

PARK CHURCH CONCERT
Park Church Mission Committee is organising a concert on Friday 3 June with an evening of 50s, 60s, and 70s music performed by Bert McCool and his group Barbers' News in the church hall. Tickets can be obtained at the door on the night and are priced at £2.50. Light refreshments are included and the proceeds will go to Messy Church.

PROTECTION OF CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE ADULTS - MISSION STATEMENT
The Catholic Church in Scotland is concerned with the lives, safety, wholeness and well-being of each individual person within God's purpose for everyone. It seeks to safeguard the welfare of people of all ages who are involved in whatever capacity
with the Church and its organisations. As a Church community, we accept that it is the responsibility of all of us, ordained, professed, paid and voluntary members, to work together to prevent the physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
