FINANCES
Bankers Orders for the Parish and Parish Centre amount to £3800 per month. Every month, we pay a levy of £1450 to the Diocese. We are grateful for your generous support in collections. If you can manage a little more from time to time, it would be a great help. A Standing Order would make the handling of money so much easier. Have you signed a Gift Aid form? If you are a taxpayer the Church would get 25p added to every £1 you donate.

COLLECTIONS
Last weekend's Offertory collection amounted to £774.97 and the Maintenance Fund collection to £306.21 - many thanks.

GIFT AID
The Inland Revenue now requires us to use a new style of Gift Aid form. These are available at the back of the Church and on the parish website. If you pay tax, please complete the new form and return it to the box provided. This allows us to provide the additional information required on the Gift Aid claim. Gift Aid is a vital source of income. All that is needed is that you pay tax. You simply declare that you give funds to the Church. We do the rest. Why not sign a form today? We get back an extra 25p for every £1 you give the Church in your weekly collection or by way of a donation. There is no need to cancel or renew it. We simply claim in the income we receive.

PARISH RECORDS
Our parish records are covered by the Data Protection Act and are for parish use only. We cannot give out phone numbers or addresses. Please help us to keep our records up to date using the cards provided.

MARY'S MEALS
Thanks to all the people who donated items for Mary's Meals Backpack Appeal. We continue to collect all items listed on the leaflet but are particularly looking for summer shorts, t-shirts, skirts, dresses, flip-flops and backpacks for children aged between four and twelve. These can be new or used in good condition. Please put any items you wish to donate into the blue container in the Church porch and pick up the 2016 magazine to see how the work is progressing. There is also a leaflet with the full list of items required. Thank you.

The annual appeal to the parish and collection of textiles - only - will take place over the weekend of 13 and 14 August. Used clothing and all textiles can be left at the Parish Centre on Saturday 13. The van will leave after the 10.30 am Mass on the Sunday.

THE MARGARET SINCLAIR STORY
The Margaret Sinclair Story is a brand new one-woman play, performed as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, dramatising the life, times and everyday sanctity of Edinburgh's beloved Margaret Sinclair (1900-1925). It is written and directed by Stephen Callaghan and performed by Mary Frances Jennow. The venue is Saint Patrick's Church, Cowgate, Edinburgh. The date are 6 to 12 August at 7.45 pm and August 9 and 11.00 am and 3.00 pm. Tickets cost £6 waged and £5 unwaged or concession.

SAINT PETER'S SCHOOL COOKBOOK
Saint Peter's Primary School Parent Council has worked closely with the pupils and staff of Saint Peter's to produce a fundraising Cookbook to celebrate the school's twentieth anniversary. THE HOLY YEAR OF MERCY - PILGRIMAGE TO SAINT NINIAN'S CAVE
Our parish should celebrate the Year of Mercy by taking part in the Pilgrimage to Saint Ninian's Cave, Whithorn on Sunday 28 August. A bus - the parish will bear the cost - will leave Saint Peter's at 11.30 am. Bring a picnic. Mass will be at 4.00 pm in the Church for those unable to walk along the beach to Saint Ninian's Cave and at the Cave for those able to walk the fair distance. Names - one per space - should be written on the sheet at the stall, please.

CANON PAT KEEGANS
Canon Pat Keegans, Administrator of the Cathedral parish of Saint Margaret's in Ayr, has been diagnosed with a serious vocal cord problem and will have to retire from his parish duties. Keep him in your prayers.

CHURCH DOORS
The side door is fitted and the front doors should only be a few weeks. Before another winter hits us, we need to replace the front doors. They swell badly in the rain and are impossible to open and shut properly. Because the Church is an A-Listed building, more durable replacement doors need to be specially made. This is being done but the total cost of main and side doors will be over £10000. I need to make an appeal to you for help. Brown envelopes will be available and any fundraising you can organise will be extremely useful. Extra in the second collection is a perfect way of helping. So far, donations total £4348.

SPONSORED CYCLE RUN ROUND CUMBRAE
On Saturday 30 July, Ami Paterson and George Kidd will cycle round Cumbrae to raise funds for our new doors. Please see the sheet at the stall.

HOSPITALITÉ DE NOTRE DAME DE LOURDES
This year, 2016, the Galloway Diocesan Branch of Hospitalité de Notre Dame de Lourdes celebrates sixty years of organising pilgrimages to Lourdes. A Celebration Dinner Dance for all former pilgrims - from 1956 to the present day - and all friends who wish to join us, has been arranged. for Friday 19 August in Saint Joseph's Church Hall, Hill Street, Kilmarnock with a 7.00 pm start. Tickets cost £15 and are available from Myriame Sammons on 01294 469006. This is a 'Bring Your Own Bottle' event.

THE PAINTING
Have you noticed the painting of the Crucifixion in the Church? It was presented to the parish by Mr Ross who presented the painting The Young Mary some time ago. Full details of the painting will be given later.

CHERNOBYL CHILDREN'S LIFELINE
On behalf of the charity, can I once again thank you for your generosity. Your contributions will help us to welcome the twelve children to Ayrshire with a backpack each filled with different items to help them settle the first few days. We also raised about £800 in financial donations which is fantastic and again will help make this an unforgettable four weeks for these deserving children. If anyone wants to know more about the charity or has anything else to donate, please contact Michael or Lisa Lafferty on 07813 650411.
