SUNDAY MASS TIMES
Sunday Mass times in Saint Peter's are 5.30 pm Vigil and 10.30 am. Sunday Mass times in other local parishes can be seen here.

SACRAMENT OF FORGIVENESS
The Sacrament of Forgiveness is available at any suitable time as well as from 4.30 pm before the Vigil Mass on Saturday evenings.

HOSPITAL CHAPLAINCY
If a member of your family or a friend is sick, please let us know and give us the details. Deacon Bill Corbett (01292 521208, 07904 248948, Rev.BillCorbett@btinternet.com) is the chaplain to Crosshouse Hospital and is assisted by the priest on call each week. Canon Pat Keegans is the chaplain to Ayr Hospital and the Ayrshire Hospice.

FINANCES
Bankers Orders for the Parish and Parish Centre amount to £3800 per month. We are grateful for your generous support in collections. If you can manage a little more from time to time, it would be a great help. A Standing Order would make the handling of money so much easier. Have you signed a Gift Aid form? If you are a taxpayer the Church would get 25p added to every £1 you donate.

COLLECTIONS
Last weekend's Offertory collection amounted to £529.59 and the Maintenance Fund collection to £212.10 - many thanks.

GIFT AID
The Inland Revenue now requires us to use a new style of Gift Aid form. These are available at the back of the Church and on the parish website. If you pay tax, please complete the new form and return it to the box provided. This allows us to provide the additional information required on the Gift Aid claim. Gift Aid is a vital source of income. All that is needed is that you pay tax. You simply declare that you give funds to the Church. We do the rest. Why not sign a form today? We get back an extra 25p for every £1 you give the Church in your weekly collection or by way of a donation. There is no need to cancel or renew it. We simply claim in the income we receive.

PARISH RECORDS
Our parish records are covered by the Data Protection Act and are for parish use only. We cannot give out phone numbers or addresses. Please help us to keep our records up to date using the cards provided.

READERS
Next weekend's readers are Katrina Pollock at 5.30 pm and Robert Cooper at 10.30 am.

ALTAR SERVERS
Please could all Altar Servers collect the new rota from the sacristy? Could you please leave either an email or postal address for future rotas as due to unforeseen circumstances information previously held is unavailable to us. Next weekend's altar servers are Group 1 at 5.30 pm and Group 3 at 10.30 am.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY
As we begin our new term of Children's Liturgy, we would like to welcome all nursery and primary 1 to 3 children to join us during the 10.30 am Sunday Mass. Our Primary 4 group will begin in October after their Presentation Sunday which will be arranged soon.
We are looking for volunteers to help support these groups to help us keep the wonderful programme for the children we have in this parish. If you would like to volunteer or would just like more information, please contact Michelle at the Parish Office on 464063. Thank you. Next week's helpers are Geraldine Butcher and Emily Tarbet for the pre-fives and Claire Sweenie, Linda Martin and Elaine Shaw for Primaries 1, 2 and 3.

SUNDAY TEAS
Next Sunday's teas will be served by Sharon McLaughlin's team. Would you consider making a team or joining a team that organises the teas and coffees after Sunday 10.30 am Mass? If so, please leave your details at the Parish Office or telephone 01294 464063.

CANON MATT HOLIDAY
Canon Matt is on holiday from 29 August to 23 September. The parish office will be staffed as usual during office hours from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm on weekdays. Neighbouring parishes will be assisting and Father John Kinsler will cover the weekend Masses. Canon Pat McSorley will say a morning Mass on two Fridays and Father Kinsler will say a morning Mass on two Wednesdays. The Bulletin will give information each week as will the website. Masses will be offered elsewhere for Cathie Middle, Ian Colville and Annie McCormick.

BISHOP NOLAN
Bishop William continues to make good progress and hopes to return to duty soon.

IGNATIAN PRAYER GROUP
The first Ignatian Prayer Group commenced on last Wednesday at 7.30 pm and will continue on the first Wednesday of each month. The second Group will commence on Tuesday 13 September at 7.30 pm and will continue on the second Tuesday of each month thereafter.

EMBRACING CHANGE IN THE YEAR OF MERCY
The Outreach to the Poor Group of Embracing Change have arranged a meeting to discuss Homelessness in North Ayrshire and our Christian response to the problem. The speakers are from Scottish Churches Housing Action, North Ayrshire Council Homeless Unit and East Ayrshire Churches Homeless Action. The meeting will take place in Saint Mary's Parish Hall, Saltcoats on 29 September at 7.00 pm. The main speaker will be Diane Becker from Scottish Churches Housing Action. All are welcome.

MARY'S MEALS
Thank you for the many donations, of items and cash, for the Mary's Meals Backpack appeal. We will soon be in a position to fill more than a hundred further backpacks to send to Malawi. To this end, we need the following items - hand towels, coloured pencils, pencil cases, sharpeners, jotters, small balls, dessert spoons and toothpaste. If you would like to donate any items please leave them in the box in the Church porch. Thank you again for your generosity.

MUSIC WORKSHOP
A music workshop is being arranged by Galloway Music Network on Saturday 24 September at the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Onthank, Kilmarnock from 10.30 am - 3.00 pm. There will be three sessions during the day - on managing unaccompanied singing, music for Advent and singing straightforward psalms settings. There will be plenty of opportunity for discussion and the sharing of ideas. This event is being organised for anyone with an interest in parish music. A light lunch will be provided. For more information contact Nicola Lawrence on 0141 886 7963. Booking forms are available from the diocesan website at www.GallowayDiocese.org.uk or Michael McCulloch.

SAINT PETER'S CHILDREN'S CENTRE
Saint Peter's Children's Centre has re-opened on Mondays and Fridays at 8.50 am for the nursery class, 1.00 pm for the two to three class and at 9.30 to 11.30 am for the toddler group. Funded places available for immediate start for children aged three years or over. Children who are three before 28 February 2017 can register for a place now. For further information, please call Josephine Coulter on 473030 or 602179.

CHURCH DOORS
Both the side and front doors are now fitted. Because the Church is an A-Listed building, more durable replacement doors needed to be specially made at a cost of over £10000. I need to make an appeal to you for help. Brown envelopes will be available and any fundraising you can organise will be extremely useful. Extra in the second collection is a perfect way of helping. So far, donations total £4583.

SCALLYWAGS AFTER CARE
Scallywags After Care is held in the Parish Centre on Mondays to Fridays from 3.00 to 6.00 pm during term time and 8.00 am to 6.00 pm during holidays. There are pickups at Stanley, Saint Peter's and Winton Primary Schools.

FUTURE EVENTS
The following events are being planned.
   - 16 October - Sacrament of the Sick in Saint Mary's Church, Largs
   - 30 October - Youth Event in
Saint Matthew's Academy, Saltcoats
   - 28 November - Closing of the Year of Mercy in Saint Brigid's Church, Kilbirnie

VISITORS
Are you visiting us for Mass? Please know that you are very welcome. During the 10.30 am Mass outwith holidays, there is a Children’s Liturgy provided for preschool children, children in Primaries 1 to 3 and a Sacramental Programme for children in Primary 4. After the 10.30 am Mass, tea, coffee cakes and buns are available in the Parish Centre. At both of our weekend Masses, we have a second collection for Church maintenance.
