SACRAMENT OF FORGIVENESS
The Sacrament of Forgiveness is available at any suitable time as well as from 4.30 pm before the Vigil Mass on Saturday evenings.

HOSPITAL CHAPLAINCY
If a member of your family or a friend is sick, please let us know and give us the details. Deacon Bill Corbett (01292 521208, 07904 248948, Rev.BillCorbett@btinternet.com) is the chaplain to Crosshouse Hospital and is assisted by the priest on call each week.

FINANCES
Bankers Orders for the Parish and Parish Centre amount to £3500 per month. We are grateful for your generous support in collections. If you can manage a little more from time to time, it would be a great help. A Standing Order would make the handling of money so much easier. Have you signed a Gift Aid form? If you are a taxpayer the Church would get 25p added to every £1 you donate.

COLLECTIONS
Last weekend's Offertory collection amounted to £768.15 and the Maintenance Fund collection to £275.23 - many thanks.

GIFT AID
The Inland Revenue now requires us to use a new style of Gift Aid form. These are available at the back of the Church and on the parish website. If you pay tax, please complete the new form and return it to the box provided. This allows us to provide the additional information required on the Gift Aid claim. Gift Aid is a vital source of income. All that is needed is that you pay tax. You simply declare that you give funds to the Church. We do the rest. Why not sign a form today? We get back an extra 25p for every £1 you give the Church in your weekly collection or by way of a donation. There is no need to cancel or renew it. We simply claim in the income we receive.

PARISH RECORDS
Our parish records are covered by the Data Protection Act and are for parish use only. We cannot give out phone numbers or addresses. Please help us to keep our records up to date using the cards provided.

READERS
Next weekend's readers are Ronnie Cairns at 5.30 pm and Peter Brawley at 10.30 am.

ALTAR SERVERS
Next weekend's altar servers are Group 1 at 5.30 pm and Group 3 at 10.30 am.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY
Next week's Children's Liturgy helpers are Geraldine Butcher and Emma Paterson for the pre-fives and Frances Gemmell and Gayle Paterson for Primaries 1, 2 and 3. Canon Matt had the opportunity to meet with the Children's Liturgy volunteers on Monday evening to thank them for the work they do Sunday by Sunday. I raised the question of the small number of children who come to Mass, or rather, are brought to Mass and the fact that we can always do with a few more adult volunteers. Please give this some thought.

SUNDAY TEAS
Next Sunday's teas will be served by Maria Boyle's team.

OUR LADY OF FATIMA
The Apparition of our Lady to Lucia dos Santos, aged ten years, and her two younger cousins, Francisco and Jacinta, took place at Fatima on 13 May 1917.

JULIA PATERSON
Congratulations to Julia Paterson on her one hundredth birthday. Julia was born on 13 May 1917.

SACRAMENT OF HOLY COMMUNION
Our young parishioners in Primary 4 will receive Holy Communion for the first time - ten on Sunday 14 May at 10.30 am and nine on Sunday 21 May at 10.30 am.

CLOTHING APPEAL IN AID OF CHERNOBYL CHILDREN'S LIFELINE
Another group of ten girls is coming from the Ukraine to Ayrshire in July for four weeks. We always try and supply the children with some good second hand clothing to wear while they are here and then to take home with them. We are very short this year and are looking for clean good quality second hand clothing for girls aged between nine and thirteen years. We need jeans, jumpers, hoodies, sweatshirts, tee-shirts, leggings and jackets. I thank you in advance for your continued support of our charity and I hope you get the chance to meet the children when they visit Saint John’s Church, Stevenston. If you have anything to donate or would be interested in finding out more about the charity please contact us on 01294 461234 or 07813 650411.                          Michael and Lisa Lafferty

PARISH LOURDES GROUP- QUIZ NIGHT
Sincere thanks to all who helped in any way at our recent Quiz Night fundraiser. On the night we raised £450 and further donations brought the total to £500. We appreciate your continued support. We will remember the parish in Lourdes on our forthcoming Diocesan Pilgrimage in July.

50/50 CLUB
Despite the fact that we have lost a few members and a few have not renewed, we are grateful for another instalment of £500 towards parish funds. The 50/50 Club welcomes new members for only £15 annually with a chance of winning prizes and supporting the parish at the same time. Membership forms are available at the back porch and can be returned to the Parish Office or the Promoter Mrs Myriame Sammons on 469006. When we increase membership, we can also increase prize money. If you feel lucky why not join now?

APPARITION HILL
Apparition Hill, a film about life and Medjugorge will be shown in the Waterfront Cinema, Greenock on Sunday 21 May at 7.30 pm. Tickets can be bought at the Cinema or from Claire Evans on 07879 818865.
