FINANCES
Bankers Orders for the Parish and Parish Centre amount to £3500 per month. We are grateful for your generous support in collections. If you can manage a little more from time to time, it would be a great help. A Standing Order would make the handling of money so much easier. Have you signed a Gift Aid form? If you are a taxpayer the Church would get 25p added to every £1 you donate.

COLLECTIONS
Last weekend's Offertory collection amounted to £693.00 and the Maintenance Fund collection to £302.50 - thanks.

GIFT AID
The Inland Revenue now requires us to use a new style of Gift Aid form. These are available at the back of the Church and on the parish website. If you pay tax, please complete the new form and return it to the box provided. This allows us to provide the additional information required on the Gift Aid claim. Gift Aid is a vital source of income. All that is needed is that you pay tax. You simply declare that you give funds to the Church. We do the rest. Why not sign a form today? We get back an extra 25p for every £1 you give the Church in your weekly collection or by way of a donation. There is no need to cancel or renew it. We simply claim in the income we receive.

READERS
Next weekend's readers are Katrina Pollock at 5.30pm and Alfie Agostini at 10.30am.

THE FACE OF CHRIST
We offer this image below for your inspiration. Look at the lines the artist used to draw this picture of Christ. The longer you look at this picture, the more you see. There are many scenes from Christ's life depicted here. Have you ever seen anything like this? The world-famous artist is Joe Castillo. Joe became involved with art at an early age. By five he was passionately painting and drawing daily. By eight his father was teaching him to hand letter brush script. Then, at fourteen, he attended an artist's chalk talk at a Christian youth camp in Mexico. He was so moved by the drawing and the powerful message that he accepted Christ that night. For the next forty years his love of art and his passion for God would inspire and guide his life through many interesting twists and turns. Evidently, the original image was an earlier illustration. It is more detailed now.

JUST FOR A LAUGH…
A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales. The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal, its throat was very small. The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale. Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human - it was physically impossible. The little girl said "When I get to heaven, I will ask Jonah". The teacher asked "What if Jonah went to hell?" The little girl replied "Then you ask him."

GOD'S BOXES OF LOVE
I have in my hands two boxes
Which God gave me to hold
He said "Put all your sorrows in the black
And all your joys in the gold."
I heeded His words and in the two boxes
Both my joys and sorrows I stored
But though the gold became heavier each day
The black was as light as before
With curiosity, I opened the black
I wanted to find out why
And I saw, in the base of the box, a hole
Which my sorrows had fallen out by
I showed the hole to God, and mused aloud,
"I wonder where my sorrows could be."
He smiled a gentle smile at me.
"My child, they're all here with me."
I asked"God, why give me the boxes,
Why the gold, and the black with the hole?"
"My child, the gold is for you to count your blessings
The black is for you to let go."

WELCOME TO OUR SISTERS
We welcome Sisters Ursula and Sister Mari Monique who will be living and working with us in the Three Towns. The Sisters belong to the Congregation of Saint Paul of Chatres and come from South Korea and Thailand. They are looking forward to getting to know everyone and working here in the three parishes. We welcome them and ask for God's richest blessing on their ministry and apostolate. You can welcome and meet the Sisters at Saint Mary's Parish Hall, Saltcoats on Sunday 24 June from 2.00pm until around 4.00pm. If you can please go along and say "hello". Thanks!

PARISH FEAST DAY
Our Parish Feast Day is coming soon on Friday 29 June, the feast of Saints Peter and Paul, a Holiday of Obligation. We could celebrate our saint on the following weekend, 30 June and 1 July. A special custom for the celebration of Saint Peter is the Lammas Bread. This comes from the words Loaf-Mass Bread. Special breads or scones are baked and brought to the altar at the Offertory, blessed and distributed at the end of Mass. Fiona has agreed to make the Lammas Bread for the Church and primary school Masses.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - 3TFM RADIO
Michael McCulloch and Father Duncan are broadcasting the Thought For The Day on 3TFM Community Radio from 25 June for five days. It is a two-minute spot every day at 9.10am. 3TFM broadcasts to the towns of Ardrossan, Saltcoats, and Stevenston on 103.1FM, twenty-four hours a day and online to the world on www.3tfm.org.uk. Listen to us on your phone, tablet and computer. You can't miss it!

CHURCHES HOMELESS ACTION NORTH AYRSHIRE (CHANA)
The first meeting about the proposed Lunch Club for those who are homeless, living in hostels or supported accommodation and those at risk of homelessness was successful. A follow up meeting will be held on Friday 29 June in the Kirkgate Hall, Chapelwell Street, Saltcoats at 11.00am. The aim is to start in September. We are therefore looking to have a good number of volunteers to help prepare soup and sandwiches, to serve and to 'just be there'. Please come along if you are interested in helping in any way. For more information, phone CHANA on 07585 665751.

EMBRACING CHANGE UPDATE
The Maryvale Ministry Course is going very well with our 'students' filling in a questionnaire and evaluation. There seems to be a general very positive response and contentment with the course. We also had a special day for all our Eucharistic Ministers with around ninety participants on 2 June. The evaluation was very positive indeed and we will definitely offer a similar day next year.

Are you aged between 20 and 40? Would you like to meet some fellow young Catholics? We are going to Laser Station at Soar, Braehead on 14 July at 7.15pm. Ticket sales close on 29 June.
