RECIPE FOR A MIRACLE
Hebrews 11:6 - And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. Recipe: 1 cup Tension, 2 cups Stress, 1 ½ teaspoons of Guilt, 2 heaping cups of Limited Time, ¾ tablespoon of Urgency, A dash of No Other Choice, 3 heaping cups of Faith. Fold ingredients gently into a bowl. Mix vigorously and add a few tears. You'll sweat a little as you knead the dough. Pack it firmly between your hopes and dreams and form into a perfect little ball. Sprinkle it with a little faith - I recommend Hebrews 11, rolling the ball in the flour until fully covered. Place it under a veil of belief and allow it to rise. Put it in an oven that has been pre-set at the perfect temperature for the heat of trials and tribulations. Allow it to brown under the warmth of God's love. Remove after due season and allow to cool in the confidence of His promise. Garnish with your praises. Arrange neatly on a platter of thankfulness and serve to friends, families and, oh yes, strangers - invite them too! Pass on the recipe to all who request it and let them know that with this recipe, they have the makings of a miracle!

OUR LENTEN PARISH RETREAT 2020
Rend your hearts, not your garments. Return to the Lord your God - (Joel 2:13). How many times have you let Lent become about you? It's about what you are giving up... What you are doing for the Lord - but the truth is, more than anything else, God wants our hearts. The purpose of a Lenten penance is to open our hearts to a deeper relationship with God. But how often does your Lenten penance fall short of that? This Lent, I invite you to go deeper. I invite you to 'rend your hearts, not your garments'. Pope Francis gave the Church an Apostolic Exhortation - Evangelii Gaudium - The Joy of the Gospel. It is the Holy Father's programmatic document. Together, we'll explore the heart of the Christian mystery - Christ's redemption of the world through his death on the Cross and how we are all called to bring that message to the people around us today. Over the course of Lent, my hope is for a transformation of our relationships, a more vibrant relationship with God, a more generous self-gift with others and a more open receptivity to God's will in our lives. Lent is coming. It's only a few weeks away. Get prepared with the Joy of the Gospel.

JUST FOR A LAUGH …
Here are some quotes from Tommy Cooper.
• A man takes his Rottweiler to the vet. "My dog is cross-eyed - is there anything you can do for him?" "Well" said the vet "let's have a look at him." So he picks the dog up and examines his eyes, then he checks his teeth. Finally, he says, "I'm going to have to put him down." "What? Because he is cross-eyed?" "No, because he is really heavy."
Police arrested two thieves yesterday - one was holding a car battery and the other was holding fireworks. They charged one and let the other one off.
• You know, somebody actually complimented me on my driving today. They left a little note on the windscreen. It said 'Parking Fine.' So that was nice.
• A man walked into the doctors and said "I've hurt my arm in several places." The doctor said "Well, don't go there anymore."
