There was no formal Burns Supper in 2008. Our national bard was however recognised on his birthdate of 25 January during the first part of A Scottish Farewell To Father John. Father John Maendeleo was our priest in residence from 7 June 2006 to 1 February 2008 and returned to his native Tanzania on 1 February 2008. To mark his leaving, there was a social event on 25 January 2008 with a meal that included haggis, reference to Robert Burns and entertainment.
